Month 3 in the life of Cae-Dog

We might be a tad slow getting new photos of Caleb posted, but we think these are worth the wait. Hope you think so too.

Here’s our family on Kirsten’s birthday last month. (Note the Jesus beard is still intact):

happy birthday, mom!

Two days after the Passion Play closed, we drove to Custer State Park in South Dakota for Steve’s brother Andy’s wedding. We spent two verrrry long days on the road, spent 23 hours for a trip that would normally be 14 hours. Caleb was fussing up a storm, taking an hour and a half to feed (stopped on the side of the road, of course), and didn’t sleep well in the car like he usually does. We might not do that again anytime soon :) Or we’d drive at night.

Anyway, the wonderful part of the trip was that Caleb got to meet the rest of Steve’s family. Here’s Uncle Brian:

And then he got to meet his Uncle Andy, and his new Aunt Elizabeth (holding her niece Rosemary):

yay!

Hanging out with Uncle and Gramma:

Then Caleb got to meet his Grandpa Dave:

 hi grandpa!

i like him!

yay, grandpa!

Then Caleb’s Daddy went and shaved. He’d never seen him like that before. Eek!

who's the guy with no beard?

Then came Daddy’s birthday:

happy birthday, dad

Meeting so many new people — including Great Aunts Linda and Judy, Great Uncle Steve, plus Aunt Elizabeth’s whole family — had the boy a tad glassy-eyed…

 whoa

Andy & Elizabeth had a beautiful wedding ceremony on the shore of a lake in the Black Hills. Here’s a moment during a prayer of blessing for their new marriage:

amen

Then we had lots of photos taken…

Here’s Rosemary and Caleb (who’s wondering who the cute girl is in the matching outfit):

Reception fun:

Steve’s Aunt Judy took some great photos which we’ve borrowed from her website. By the way, Caleb’s outfit is from Haiti – some of the team from our church brought it back for Caleb right before he was born. It’s pretty special :)

Here’s the happy couple during the toasts:

Here’s Caleb with his Uncles on the dance floor (which he thoroughly enjoyed):

After the wedding weekend, we met up with Kirsten’s sister Jordan, Garrett and little Alianna for some adventurous camping. (Adventurous due to the heat, two babies in a tent trailer, and biting black flies!) Caleb was very glad to meet his Uncle Garrett for the first time, who dubbed Caleb “Cae-Dog”:

Hi Uncle G!

Caleb got to go swimming for the first time in Hot Springs, SD, in a mineral water pool. It was pretty fun:

really, I love it.

Here’s Uncle Garrett and cousin Alianna (who seemed to grow up fast at the mineral pool):

nice

Here’s the whole gang, with Kirsten behind the camera:

good times

Keep scrolling down, there’s earlier stuff from month 2 in the next post…
